Sunday April 27, 2003 Robison Service hosted its annual
spring tech inspection and mud run. We had about 12 trucks
in attendance, with folks from the Bay State and Connecticut
clubs, and even two enthusiasts from Rhode Island and New
York.
Master Technicians Paul Ferreira and Bob Toti checked out a number of trucks in the shop before departing for the Northampton fields just after noon. The mud was deeper than last year, and so was the water. For the most part, we were able to recover stuck trucks pretty fast and everybody had a good time. The trails this year offered some holes deep enough to sink the tires clean out of sight, and we had drive-arounds for those who didn’t want to chance the holes. We had a mix of stock trucks and modified rigs. It was a beautiful sunny day when we reached the fields and there were quite a few other 4x4s riding around. None of them wanted to chance the deeper holes we went through. |
